NARRATIVAS FUTURAS. AS RUÍNAS DO RURAL
Galicia,  2023-205

Narrativas Futuras. O proxecto nace do traballo conxunto de Alba Casas, artista multidisciplinar, e Adrián Riveiro, músico e compositor, quen poñen en diálogo as súas prácticas para activar novas narrativas arredor do territorio, a súa memoria e as súas transformacións.

Narrativas Futuras. As ruínas do rural is an artistic and research project that explores the ruin as a space of memory and possibility in the Galician countryside. Through image, sound, and found objects, we seek to re-signify these forgotten landscapes and turn them into open grounds for imagining other futures. The project emerges from the collaboration between Alba Casas, multidisciplinary artist, and Adrián Riveiro, musician and composer, who bring their practices into dialogue to activate new narratives around the territory, its memory, and its transformations.

The sculptural pieces created by Alba Casas for the exhibition Narrativas Futuras. The Ruins of the Rural emerge from the collection and transformation of objects found in abandoned spaces. Each object preserves the marks of time, the fractures, and the scars of its history. When used in the production of the works, these remnants become living matter, bringing the ruin into the present. It is not only about recovering fragments, but about activating a new life within them: restoring, recomposing, or intervening in their form, while respecting the memory they hold and at the same time granting them new possibilities. In this way, the forgotten object becomes both a witness to the past and a seed of a future to come. The sculptures act as bridges: between the materiality of ruin and our present, between the silence of abandonment and the creative force that emerges from what once seemed lost.

The sculptural pieces created by Alba Casas for the exhibition Narrativas Futuras.
