Cartografía Maronda é unha peza híbrida que xorde da teoría durante o desenvolvemento do proxecto de investigación Lobxs Salvaxes. Cartografiando unha resistencia queer/maronda en Galicia. Trátase de dúas cartografías entrelazadas: unha teórica, construída a partir do coñecemento e a análise, e outra práctica, que toma forma no espazo artístico. Ambas nacen da mesma investigación, e os elementos que compoñen a obra foron inicialmente concibidos como apoios prácticos para dita investigación, pero no proceso transfórmanse en arte e memoria.

A peza está instalada nun edificio histórico actualmente en ruínas, un lugar destinado á súa desaparición e destrución. No seu pasado, este edificio foi un símbolo de control e opresión no rural: sede dunha institución disciplinaria do Estado durante o franquismo. As antigas celas, agora baleiras, convértense no espazo onde a obra toma forma. Mesmo se o edificio cae, os restos das persoas que habitaron este lugar –así como as pegadas das figuras queer/marondas da investigación– serán recuperadas e perpetuadas nas ruínas que deixen atrás.

En Cartografía Maronda, espazo, historia e memoria fúndense nun acto de resistencia. A obra non busca só visibilizar a loita dos corpos marxinalizados en Galicia, senón tamén honrar a memoria de quen foron silenciadxs polos sistemas de opresión, ao tempo que nos convida a reflexionar sobre os xeitos nos que a resistencia queer/maronda segue viva nas ruínas da historia.

Cartografía Maronda is a hybrid piece that arises from theory during the development of the Lobxs Salvages research project. Mapping a queer/maronda resistance in Galicia. These are two intertwined cartographies: one theoretical, built from knowledge and analysis, and another practical, which takes shape within the artistic space. Both are born from the same research, and the elements that make up the work were initially conceived as practical supports for said research, but in the process they are transformed into art and memory.

The piece is installed in a historic building that is currently in ruins, a place destined for its disappearance and destruction. In its past, this building was a symbol of control and oppression in the countryside: headquarters of a state disciplinary institution during the Franco regime. The old cells, now empty, become the space where the work takes shape. Even if the building collapses, the remains of the people who inhabited this place – as well as the traces of the queer/brown figures of the investigation – will be recovered and perpetuated in the ruins they leave behind.

In Maronda Cartography, space, history and memory merge in an act of resistance. The work not only seeks to make visible the struggle of marginalized bodies in Galicia, but also to honor the memory of those who were silenced by systems of oppression, while inviting us to think about the ways in which queer/maronda resistance is still alive. in the ruins of history
